Hellloooo people! It’s Monday and you know what that means! Time to rejuvenate our hustle juice and do it all in a positive vibe way! Taking for granted ;
Fail to properly appreciate (someone or something), especially as a result of over-familiarity.
So I had an occurrence recently, well yesterday, which made me realize how much I honestly take for granted. I am asthmatic and a strong scent drove me to take a dose from my inhaler. It seems like a typical reaction for someone who has asthma right? Well for someone who had not reached for the medication for almost a year, I was freaked!! Well, just surprised or rather caught off guard. Then I realized if I had been taking care of my health better by eating healthy foods and exercising to help make my lungs stronger, I wouldn’t have been taking 2 puffs from my good old inhaler.
That then opened wide the flood gates of all the things I take for granted during my days and especially recently. Because some things do not have a deadline, ever, we are not really in a hurry to do them. We can do them later, right? But thing is, it would be best for us if we did them early enough anyways. The little things are the important ones.
That friend we postpone to talk to maybe had something important to tell us and because it did not seem important at the time, we miss out. It could be that quick and easy meal that we spend our time on instead of that filling food that our body will be super grateful to receive. It could be that book or movie that we do not feel in any hurry to finish, and by no hurry to finish, I mean like months and months. It could be that meeting that happens every week but we always postpone to attend. It could be anything at all that we know we should be keen on but just are not.
All these examples by the way are referring to me. Hehe, this is why I know the situation really well. Saying hello in the morning could also be something else taken for granted. Very small minor things that if done could improve our quality of life in a big way. How about we think of all the things we take for granted, we list those major ones so to speak and during this week we work on them together. It good be anything, from saying hello to people on text first before talking to them for the first time that day or even appreciating the sunshine to having a deep conversation about something we may be afraid to discuss.
